open source drone hardware. Just got my first FPV drone for Christmas, but I'm unfortunately grounded. The SkyViper app on my iPhone detects that the drone needs a firmware update, the update fails, and the app won't continue without the update. The manufacturers site doesn't seem to have any details about the firmware update process, and I've done the standard IT routine of power cycling the drone, phone, and uninstalling/reinstalling the app, all to no avail.Any suggestions before I try to exchange it at the retailer?UPDATE: Got it working with my wife's phone, and after completely reinstalling, forgetting the drone's WiFi, and power cycling my phone for the 3rd time, got it working! Not a great first impression.

What kind of micro SD card do you have again? They differ quite a bit in quality from say a SanDisk memory card to a PNY micro memory card.
For example, a SanDisk 128mg micro card will run you 120 dollars and a PNY 128mg card will cost about 58 dollars. Thats not for nothing, you do get what you pay for. Now if you do in fact have a SanDisk or a high quality micro sd card, have you formatted in the way they ask you to in the manual?
Thats all the suggestions that I have, congrats on the purchases. Moosica replied at 2014-12-12 08:51hi. I recently got x1 and i was disappointed to find out fiio only comes with a handful of genres fo.Hello moosica,I would recommend that you tune your own custom EQ and use it with all your music, actually. The idea that different music genres require different EQ is just a myth that all music player makers unfortunately have to cater to. Actually what requires different EQs the most is different earphones and different listeners.
You may set your custom EQ using some of your favorite songs, with your favorite headphones. Afterwards you can pretty much leave the setting there for all the rest of your songs, which should all now sound quite fine-Joe. MinTshmee replied at 2015-1-24 06:16For the X1, is 1.2 the newest firmware or 1.1 because when I tried to update mine it says wrong mode.Hi, kindly be noted that, the FW1.2 is just modified to be more convenient for the production.
Except for this, the FW1.2 is almost the same as the FW1.1. If your X1 is already FW1.1, then there may no need to upgrade to FW1.2.You can try to upgarde the X1 to latest beta firmware FW1.22beta if you have interest:.BTW, you mentioned that, 'it says wrong model'? Where did you download the FW1.2? Good afternoon to all I just got my FiiO X1. Everything ok, bought by Amazon in Italy (I'm an Italian guy).
Together with the new device I bought also a AUX cable to connect the device to the stereo sound system of my car and a Micro SD card Toshiba 64gb.If of any help, what stated in the little guideline inside the package (Recommended brands Sandisk, Transcend or Kingston) are only the one utilized to test the device, so you can use also other Micro SD card.Another little thing, just verified, it is not true that to upgrade the firmware you must utilize a Micro SD card of 32gb or under. My Toshiba 64gb worked perfectly. Please remind that to upgrade the device you have to unzip the file (downloaded from FiiO) inside the Micro SD card.
